My Story
Hello, my name is Keira Shively, and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's of Science majoring in Atmospheric Sciences. Before transferring to the University of Georgia, my major at LSU was Disaster Management, which is now my minor at UGA. Throughout my academic journey, I have discovered a love for understanding the processes that occur in the atmosphere and how to translate this information to the public regarding hazardous weather events. I am also an undergraduate research assistant to Dr. Ritchie (Institute for Disaster Management) currently working on a manuscript for participatory geospatial mapping on perceived hazards in Iceland. Upon graduating I hope to combine my passion of working with people and my love for atmospheric processes to be able to accurately communicate information to the public.
