Breezy, Beautiful Weekend

Good evening Athens, North Georgia, and our viewers! We're continuing our stretch of chilly weather here in Athens, but warmer days are just around the corner as we head into the weekend! For now, let’s take a closer look at what’s in store for today, tonight, tomorrow, and the upcoming weekend.

Today, Athens saw temperatures climb to a high of 64 degrees with clear skies thanks to the lingering high pressure over the region. While it's still cooler than usual for this time of year, it's the perfect weather to break out the sweaters and enjoy the crisp autumn air. North Georgia was a little bit chillier with a high of 58, plenty of sunshine and calm conditions throughout the day.

Moving into tonight, the temperature will drop to the high 30s. While conditions will not call for a frost advisory, sensitive plants should still be protected if left outside. Looking ahead to tomorrow, skies will remain clear with a small breeze. We'll see highs reach 67 degrees here in Athens, with similar conditions across North Georgia.

Warmer weather is on the way for the weekend! As the trough makes its way out of our region, we'll see daytime highs rise back into the lower 70s on Saturday and Sunday. It’ll be mostly sunny throughout the weekend with no rain in the forecast, so you can enjoy some mild autumn weather. Expect cool mornings in the low 40s, but the afternoons will feel pleasant and comfortable.

Take advantage of the nice weather and get outdoors this weekend! Go Dawgs!
