Rainy Start to the Week

Good evening, Dawg Nation!!

We kicked off the work week with a rainy start—most of North Georgia saw steady rain overnight and into this morning, and South Georgia even had a few scattered tornadoes. Thankfully, all that stormy weather will be completely out of our area by tonight, clearing the way for a much drier Tuesday.

As the skies clear, we'll still have some lingering clouds overnight and cooler air moving in behind a recent cold front. That means tonight’s low will dip to a chilly 45 degrees. There’s a small chance of rain overnight, but it’s looking pretty unlikely. Overall, it’ll be a noticeably cooler night compared to the warmer nights we’ve had lately.

Now let’s talk Tuesday! Even with plenty of sunshine, it’s going to feel a bit more like early spring again. Thanks to that cold front, we’re expecting an unseasonably cool high of just 65 degrees, with some breezy northwesterly winds to add to the chill. So if you're cold-natured, go ahead and grab a jacket before heading out!

The good news? No severe weather is in sight for Athens or the rest of North Georgia this week! We may see some more rain on Thursday, but nothing wild. And if you’re a fan of warmer weather, you're in luck! We will begin to warm as the week progresses.

Thanks so much for reading, and as always...

Go Dawgs!
