Wait, It's Fall?

Happy Wednesday, Bulldogs! The first part of this week (and most of the month thus far) has been running well above average, with Monday's low temperature officially being reported as 12 degrees above average for this time of year. Waking up this morning, however, has been a complete turnaround back to what should be expected in mid-November, with the Athens airport hitting 64 degrees at 2:30pm today. At that time yesterday, we were already all the way up at 73! Also compared to yesterday, clouds have made a return! This is all mainly thanks to the wedge, or when cold air is pushed down from the north along the Appalachians.

This return to normal will continue tomorrow with us currently being slated to wake up to temperatures in the lower-50's, perhaps even the upper-40's. This front will also bring along a healthy serving of rain which will be mainly isolated to the morning and early afternoon, so consider bringing a rain jacket or umbrella for those early classes. By the late afternoon the rain should be moved out but our temperatures will still have only climbed to the mid-50's, leaving us with a chilly evening for those last classes and the commute home. Going into Friday and the weekend, a high-pressure system will have set up and pull those high temperatures back to what we've been seeing recently and keep the rain and clouds away. We have the potential on Saturday for a beautiful gameday here in Athens!
